After Saturday's scarring episode, something a little more robust and mechanical for Sunday. The kitchen beam still needed to be finished with the sander. In addition we'd decided to replace the grey cables the electrician had put up with some neater white wires. It would all have to come down but it's the sort of thing it's best to get right first time and whilst it's still accessible.

Queue huge amounts of dust then poking large wires through small holes. It's a job well done and we're really pleased we decided to sand the beam back instead of just painting it white again. The oak should really complement the countertops once they're in. It all just needs a coat of varnish now.

Spot the frog tape on the windows too.
