Kitchen Week 2

We came prepared for the next weekend. After the abject failure to secure all necessary units in person the week before, we’d decided to place an online order for the following week to ensure it actually all turned up.

Happily it was another sunny warm spring weekend so much of the assembly was done outside. We took the opportunity to order the minimum draws and cupboard fronts and a nominal amount of extras we thought we might want. Inner draws and whatnot.

This all coincided with the arrival of the little brass knobs we ordered from a little shop in Edinburgh we’d used before for Bristol. The knobs from Ikea can be spotted a mile off as just that: Ikea knobs. To add that little extra sparkle it’s important to diversify suppliers, go ‘custom’. We chose some little polished brass buttons. Nothing fancy, nothing faddy. Simple and easy, able to be used on both draws and cupboards alike.

Orders for hobs, sinks and ovens were dispatched too. And the worktops. All ready to coincide for another weekend of kitchen mayhem. Also, some last units to top off the cupboard-wall in the kitchen, afetr having carefully measured up everything in situ. At least the utility was fairly straight forward.
